Why is everyone doing a different pose?
Well, this is how the Mysore Style Ashtanga class works. Students are taught a set sequence of postures one pose at a time in a group setting. Each student is met at their ability. As the student gains flexibility and strength through regular practice, they learn more asanas or postures each week. Students are expected to come to class at least 3 days per week so that they can build their own yoga practice. Students who have been coming for months or even years are learning more advanced asanas in the same room as the beginners. It’s amazing to see how much people grow from this practice.
