Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine. It tries to maintain or reestablish harmony between the mind, body, and forces of nature. This balancing is used for both prevention and treatment of illness. Ayurveda combines a number of approaches, such as changes in lifestyle, Ayurvedic medicines, cleansing or detoxifying, massage, exercise, and meditation. Overall, it aims to strengthen and purify the body and mind and increase spiritual awareness.

Join us on Friday, June 20th from 6:00-9:00pm! In this workshop, Kyle Roberts will introduce the principles of Ayurveda and explain how to put them into practice in daily life. By following these simple steps, one can begin to bring the body and mind into steadiness and help to prevent the fluctuations and imbalances that can occur from the influences in our environment. These imbalances can be caused by many things, such as the foods we eat, the chemicals that we work with or that occur in the environment around us and can also be a result of our negative thoughts.

PRIVATE CONSULTATION

Kyle will also be offering consultations the following day at Inspirit for $65. Each consultation last approximately one hour. When deciding to use Ayurveda for help know that questions regarding your present state of health will be asked. These questions will focus on the regularity and functionality of your bowels, quality of sleep and dreams, diet, appetite, and cravings. Additionally, examination will consist of looking at the tongue, feeling the pulse at the radial artery, looking at the fingernails, and inquiry on any specific issue. Following this initial meeting a protocol will immediately be recommended that is intended to be followed daily. Considering the intended result, there may be frequent follow up meeting preceding this initial appointment that require more therapeutic preparations. This protocol may consist of a personalized herbal formula(s), medicated oil(s) and ghee(s), dietary observances, breathing routines, meditation, self study through reading and personal journaling. During this time of healing, regardless of stage of imbalance, it is important to observe the subtle changes as they occur within the body and mind. Ayurveda is a lifelong practice and isn’t finished when disease is no longer present, it is a continuous exploration of one’s life and the impact one has on the entire world.
